After immigrating to America, Samantha Juan joined the U.S. Army with limited options since she was not yet a U.S. citizen and served as a cook until she was able to transition to being a signals intelligence analyst attached to the NSA. Next, she attended the selection course for Special Operations Command's female Cultural Support Team (CST) which saw her deployed to Afghanistan in support of Navy SEALs.
