On the morning of March 8, 1961, a 13 year old boy living near Seattle, Washington, walked up the front steps of his house, opened the front door and went inside. He called out to see if anyone was home, but it was silent. He shrugged, then dropped his books and walked straight across the dining room and down a narrow hallway.
